Privacy Policy

Bestowing the Basics is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Athol, Idaho. When this page says “we,” it means our board and volunteers. You can reach us at info@bestowingthebasics.org, by phone at (208) 561-5050, or by mail at PO Box 791, Athol, Idaho 83801.

Messages you send us. Our contact, volunteer interest, and prayer request forms ask for your name, your email address, sometimes a phone number, and your message. The form sends that to our team by email so a person can reply. We use it to answer you, arrange help, or set up volunteering, and for nothing else.

Requests for help. If you ask for assistance or apply for Emergency Aid, you may share details about your situation and, sometimes, supporting documents. Only the board members who review requests see them, and we keep them confidential.

Prayer requests. A person on our team reads every request. Requests marked private stay with that person. We never publish prayer requests.

Donations. Online gifts go through Zeffy, and you can also give by Venmo or PayPal. Those services handle your payment details under their own privacy policies, so we never see your card number. We receive your name, email address, and gift amount so we can thank you and send a tax receipt.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We do not run advertising trackers or analytics cookies on this site. We will not add you to a mailing list unless you ask to be on one.

This website does not set tracking cookies. WordPress, the software the site runs on, sets a small cookie only if you log in. The Zeffy donation form may set cookies it needs to process a payment safely.

Our pages link to Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Venmo, PayPal, and Zeffy. When you follow one of those links, that company’s own privacy policy applies.

We keep messages only as long as we need them to help you and keep sensible records. We keep donation records for as long as tax law requires.

This site is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information online. Young volunteers sign up with a parent or guardian, on paper, through our team.

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@bestowingthebasics.org and a real person will take care of it.
